Back from a fabulous 3 day crop and lo and behold....we survived!

63 wonderful talented ladies filled the room, some from as far away as Wisconsin! Nothing speaks louder to me then these ladies coming from a far because they have heard the raves regarding our crops!! To date we have had the honor of New Zealand, Wisconsin, Georgia, & North Carolina x3 represented at our crops. That's an amazing testament in itself...

There will be no videos from the crop this time because unfortunately our DJ was slightly ill after dinner Saturday night and needed to have a personal relationship with his throne so we sent him to bed. We still had a ton of fun as my buddy Kelly stepped right up and took over the role of our DJ & let me tell you....she was quite entertaining & I believe now has a new found compassion for our DJ. I believe her words were...it ain't as easy as it looks!! LOL

Chrys has offered to teach her *amazing* tricks on couponing. I have to admit that I have NOT been doing any due to the havoc that it causes on your computer but she has assured me that with her simple tricks of the trade we will *all* be saving ton's of $$$ in NO time!!

A couple of Chrys's amazing saving...Total bill was $93.31 and I only paid $53.21 after coupons. I saved $40.10. Publix. At Albertsons I only paid $79.22 for $183.84 worth of groceries. I have both receipts to show.

 How do you go about Self Nurturing? 
 

On an airplane we get the instructions, “in case of a drop in cabin pressure, first put your oxygen mask on and then help those around you with theirs”.  Self care is vital. We all know to do this in an emergency situation, yet often forget to apply this in our everyday lives. Perhaps it’s because instead of decrease in cabin pressure, in our everyday lives we have slow and steady INCREASE in daily pressures!                                      

Basic self-care includes good nutrition, exercise, and sleep. These maintain our ability to function.  Self-nurturing is over and above the basics. Self Nurturing is what refills our reserves. Self nurturing is what re-stores our joy and peace. It often involves a way in which we connect because connection stimulates Oxytocin release which is the feel good hormone.

There are studies to support that women literally restore hormonal balances offset by stress by spending time together, talking, sharing, and connecting. (Television producers knew we got this vicariously watching Sex in the City, or Golden Girls).  This feel good hormone often gets depleted in our daily lives.

One way we can self nurture is to create situations where know that we will have connections, share our laughter and our creativity, and re-store our inner balance. So, the time to nurture yourself is now!!!

Natasha Goss from The Queen of Bling & Paper Niche  will be teaching this really *cool* 
Mixed Media Day Planner or Art Journal

This book can be whatever you want it to be. Art Journal, Day planner, year in review . . .It would make an adorable scrapbook too!

For this class I will be showing you how to alter this canvas cover, we'll take it from drab to fab in no time! I'll show you all kinds of techniques using acrylic paint, sprays, and modeling paste. We will have a "messy" good time! In class we will just be altering the outside cover. But just wait till you see what's on the inside!

This 7x9 Book is packed full of goodies, here's what's included for the inside pages . . . . paper envelope and paper pocket four folders and four photo sleeves (room for 16 - 4" x 6" photos)
two full page plastic sleeves and two business card sleeves (room for 16 standard sized business cards)

Happiness Is ... (TWO PAGE) 12x12 Layout

What does Happiness mean to you?  Sign up and cherish your memories and happy times with this adorable two-page layout.  Learn to make your embellishments with prima flowers, and die cuts; making them stand out by layering, inking and popping them up to give them a three dimensional effect.  Have you ever wanted to paper piece but didn’t know how to begin?  If so, then take this class and I will teach you to paper piece by making this 3D cute blue bird of happiness.  You will learn to cut, chalk, ink and layer your paper piecing to really make your pages special.

What to Bring: What to Bring: Trimmer, Scissors, favorite adhesive including Scrappy glue, 3D mounting sq or dots, a black Micron  pen, white opaque pen , paper piercer, light Blue, light green, orange, brown, (cats eye or equiv) chalk, and dry chalk (optional) with applicator or q-tip. (the Cheeky Chics store carries Scrappy Glue, mounting dots, Micron pens and the *best* white pen on the market)

Ladies,

It's time! Are you getting excited? I am!! By now I imagine that you have started packing and getting all you’re scrapping & crafting supplies together.

"Spring Fling" is a mere 4 days away and I wanted to touch base to cover a few things with all of you.

1) Like all of our crops, there will be coffee, soda, water & snacks (including fresh fruit) provided throughout the weekend.

2) Cheeky Chics offers an on-site store offering Bazzill cardstock (all of the colors) adhesives, glues, tape runners, assorted embellishments, card kits, several of the Basic Grey latest paper kits etc.

3) In the past we have had an extensive tool table set up for your use. Due to lack of need & interest, I have decided to eliminate it.

4) Garage Sale/Swap table: I will have tables available for you to display your items on. Please bring cash to make change for your buyers.

5) Massages: We have the pleasure of having 2 massage therapist available to take care of our aches and pains!

                ~Kelly is a fellow scrapper and friend and will be offering chair massages throughout the weekend. Kelly charges by the minute… 20 minutes max per appointment.

                ~Lina, also a friend of mine works at the hotel and will be offering full table massages in 30 minute or 1 hour increments.

Both of these ladies will book up quickly so be sure to reserve your time early!!!

6) Comfort: Don't forget to bring a sweater, jacket or fan depending which side of the thermostat you currently are on! A cushion for your tush (sitting in these chairs for long periods of time can get really uncomfortable) I actually bring an office chair. (yes, you can do the same) My friend Jen Peck always recommends a small stool or something similar to prop your feet on as to alleviate pressure on your back. This doesn't work for me but it's probably because my legs are so long.....lol

7) Lighting: The lighting is good in this room but if you own a Ott light or crafting light bring it along with a power strip. Power is provided at each table. 

8) Sunscreen / Bathing suit: The Magnuson Hotel has proven to have become a favorite amongst our fellow croppers for a multitude of reasons one of which is the beautiful location!

Be prepared to laugh (like some of us until you pee yourself) because I have been told that our crops are more fun then should be legal ; }
